Victoria
A genetically enhanced teenage girl protected by Agent 47 against the ICA and criminal syndicates.
Victoria is a central figure in the narrative of Hitman: Absolution, serving as the primary motivation for Agent 47's actions throughout the game. Unlike other characters who are driven by personal vendettas or financial gain, Victoria exists largely as a plot device representing the future of genetic engineering and the ethical questions surrounding it. Her safety becomes 47's sole priority after his former handler, Diana Burnwood, sacrifices her reputation to protect her from the International Contract Agency (ICA) and other hostile parties.

Lore & Background
Victoria's existence is rooted in genetic engineering, making her a subject of intense interest to multiple groups. The International Contract Agency (ICA), specifically under the direction of Benjamin Travis, views her as an asset to be used as an assassin similar to Agent 47. However, Diana Burnwood, 47's former handler, betrays the agency to prevent Victoria from being turned into a weapon. Before dying in her Chicago estate, Diana reveals this plan to 47 and tasks him with protecting the girl. This mission forces 47 to become a traitor in the eyes of his former employers. The narrative highlights that Victoria's value lies not in her current abilities but in her potential, which groups like Blake Dexter's organization seek to exploit for profit or power.
In Their Own Story
The story begins with Diana Burnwood revealing she sabotaged the ICA to save Victoria from becoming an assassin. After 47 is branded a traitor by Benjamin Travis, he hides Victoria at the Rosewood Orphanage. The plot thickens when Blake Dexter and his associates learn of her location and attempt to kidnap her. Dexter's son, Lenny, successfully grabs Victoria during the chaos at the orphanage while 47 eliminates the mercenary team led by Edward Wade. 47 tracks Lenny to Hope, South Dakota, where he kills Lenny's gang, the Hope Cougars, to disrupt their plan to sell Victoria to a rival weapons corporation. After interrogating Lenny in the desert, 47 proceeds to a Dexter Industries facility, destroying research on Victoria and eliminating key leadership. Eventually, Victoria is taken to the Hope Courthouse jail by corrupt sheriff Clive Skurky. In the climax at Blackwater Park, 47 confronts Blake Dexter, who intended to sell Victoria for $10 million in a meeting with Travis. After killing Dexter, 47 ensures Victoria's safety. The game concludes months later with 47 observing from a rooftop across Lake Michigan as Diana, who faked her death, looks after Victoria.
Reader's Guide
While players do not directly control Victoria during gameplay, her presence dictates the entire structure of Hitman: Absolution. Every mission in the single-player campaign revolves around reaching her or protecting her from those who wish to capture her. Key turning points include the failed rescue at the Rosewood Orphanage where Lenny Dexter abducts her, and the subsequent journey through Hope, South Dakota. Players must navigate levels like the Terminus Hotel, the strip club, the gun store, and the courthouse specifically because these locations are tied to the factions hunting Victoria. The 'Contracts' mode allows players to create custom objectives involving characters from the story, but the core narrative drive remains 47's relentless pursuit to keep Victoria out of the hands of the ICA and Blake Dexter.
